Registration and Certificates.

The ADA does not require registration or certification of service dogs, however, SDs  must be registered with your local city or county animal control or sheriffs department like any other dog. Some cities and counties have a separate registration for service animals so they can reconnect handlers with animal in case of separation. There is no requirement for certification of service dogs. It is recommended that your dog be certified by the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. All dogs trained by PSD are CGC certified. Check with your local dog trainers.


Service dog registries, as seen online, are not legally recognized. Most registries are not legitimate and only there to take your money. The only legitimate registry I know that is recognized nationally is The United States Service Dog Registry. SOME courts do acknowledge the USSDR. Please visit their website at the link below.
